Oslo is not in Poland - by Dale

Why I would think that I may never know but I have had to correct myself several times these last few days. Luckily that plays out in my head only. We have had such a great time in this city and country. We travelled all day yesterday returning from Narvik with a brief stop in Stockholm for new tickets and then headed on requiring several transfers and even a rare late train we finally arrived.

When we met up with the owners of an apartment we are renting through AirBnB it turns out one of the keys was missing and we couldn't get in. Tired and dirty we laughed that off and visited with the very friendly people around us. We got invites to come in or go elsewhere to wait but chose to sit on the stairwell and drink a gift of carbonated water. Much later, we got in and stayed up late to finally do our laundry and plan our stay.

Today we got to the famous Vigeland park which was very powerful for both of us but especially Laurie who first saw it with her family over 40 years before. It reminded me of all the stages and emotions of lives of family and those around us. See it yourself when you get the chance.

We had a few navigation and transport challenges today but made good adjustments and kept enjoying this special visit. We checked out the botanical garden and zoological museum too and were very impressed at how quiet and special this large area is. We could spend much more time there too.

We finished up the day in the local neighborhood shopping for dinner which we enjoyed on the patio of our apartment later. What a fine time we are having in Oslo with more to come. Special thanks to Laurie for introducing me to Vigelands, putting up with my navigation limitations and generally being an excellent travel partner. Hopefully we can solve some blog/photo problems soon and get Laurie publishing more too.

I'm enjoying the evening scene after a very good day
